Installation Notes

Note: This Oracle Application Express application is intended for demonstration of Oracle Warehouse Builder Data Profiling public views. It is not a supported component of Oracle Warehouse
Builder or Oracle Application

These installation notes accompany
the Oracle® Warehouse Builder/Oracle Application Express Data Profiling Reports Demonstration application. This
document contains the following sections:
· Overview
This Oracle Application Express application makes Oracle Warehouse Builder
Data Profiling functionalities available to users who can not have or do not
want to have the Warehouse Builder Client installed. Instead, such users will
view the data profiling statistics and drill down to data with an Oracle Application
Express application requiring only a web browser. The user interface of this
application and the overall user experience resembles Warehouse Builder’s Data
Profiling Manager as closely as possible.
Complete the following pre-installation tasks before installing the
application:

Install Oracle
Application Express Version 1.6 or above.
· Install Warehouse Builder 10gR2 Beta 3
·
Create OWB Unified Repository and Profiling
Workspace
Complete the following pre-installation tasks before installing the
application:
· Start Oracle Application Express Application Builder
· Click the Export/Import icon in Oracle Application Express Application Builder and choose Import option from Export/Import window.
· Select the file “OWB_HTMLDB_PORTAL.sql” in “Import File” with “File Type” as “Application/Page Export” and click Install button to create the application.
· Application Install window opens, and prompts for the appropriate Warehouse Builder repository schema name, in the “Parse as schema” drop down list.
· Choose one of the radio button options for “Install as Application” .The Radio button option should have been defaulted to “Reuse Application id 125 from export file”. Press Install Application button to install the application.
· Click the Export/Import icon in Oracle Application Express Application Builder and choose Import option from Export/Import window to upload Data Profile Manager template images.
· Select the file “OWB_HTMLDB_PORTAL_IMG.sql” with “File Type” as ”Image Export” and click Install button to install images for the application.
·
Install Image window opens, and prompts for application
name in “Install Into Application”. Select the application name and click
“Install Images” button.
·
Manually copy the image “generic_home1.gif” to
the Application Express images directory.
This can usually be found in the directory HTMLDB_HOME/htmldb/images.
Verify that the application was
installed successfully by performing the following tasks:
· Verify that "OWB Data Profile" application is in the applications list of the workspace.
· Confirm the existence of the images by running the application.
