About Preparing for Backup and Recovery Operations

Prior to taking backups of your Oracle RAC database using Enterprise Manager, you must configure access for the user performing the backups, or credentials. You can also configure the default values for certain backup settings, so they do not need to be specified every time a backup is taken.
