Phases contain a collection of Action Steps, Computational Steps and Manual Steps associated with a target and determines how the execution of jobs are sequenced. Action Step must be contained within a Phase. Phases operate on a set of Enterprise Manager targets,
collectively known as a target list. Each phase must have
a target list. When the Deployment Procedure is selected for execution, the Deployment Procedure Manager will prompt
the user to assign targets to the target list.
A Phase is considered to be successfully completed, when all the jobs within it have been executed successfully.
There are two types of phases:
Rolling Phase
Examples of Phases:
Installing a software and configuring it on multiple targets
Applying catpatch.sql
on multiple databases
Starting Enterprise Manager Agent on multiple targets
