In Oracle Text, log files are used to capture information about index operations that occur within a single session. This enables you to monitor the progress of any given index operations in the current session. You can specify the name of the log file and the location where it is to be written. The log file records the index name, partition names if any exist, timestamp for index jobs during the session, and whether or not the job succeeds.
