Disconnected Materialized Views
You may not always be able to connect to a materialized view site with Oracle Enterprise Manager, such as in the case, for example, of a mass deployment environment where a materialized view site resides on individual laptop computers. In this type of environment, the materialized view sites are frequently disconnected from the network.
On computers disconnected from the network, setup of a materialized view site must occur on the computer that will contain the materialized view environment. As a result, you obviously cannot connect with Oracle Enterprise Manager to set up the materialized view site.
The Oracle Database Advanced Replication Management API Reference describes how to build a script manually that will set up a materialized view site.
You can also use Oracle Enterprise Manager to generate a script and then modify the script for each disconnected site. Executing this script at a materialized view site will prepare the materialized view site to support replication.
