Before you create a new materialized view group, make sure the following preliminary tasks have been completed.
Create the scheduled link (Creating a Scheduled Link) that the new materialized view group can use to propagate updates to the master site. You can use the Configure Materialized View Sites for Replication Wizard (as described in Setting Up Materialized View Sites) to create the scheduled links by setting up the materialized view site.
If you plan to create a simple materialized view with fast refresh as part of the creation of a new materialized view group, make sure you create the necessary materialized view log (as described in Creating Materialized View Logs) before creating the materialized view group.
To create a new materialized view group:
In Enterprise Manager, connect to the Database Instance Home page as the replication administrator.
Make sure you are connected to the materialized view site as the materialized view administrator (typically MVADMIN
user) or the replication administrator (typically REPADMIN
user).
Click Data Movement.
Under the Advanced Replication section, click Manage. The Advanced Replication: Administration page appears.
Under the Materialized View Site section, click the number next to Materialized View Groups.
The Materialized View Groups page appears.
Click Create.
The General subpage of the Create Materialized View page appears.
The Materialized View Group Wizard then guides you through the creation of a new materialized view group, including the following tasks.
Choosing a master site for the new materialized view group.
Picking a master group for the new materialized view group.
Choosing the master group objects to replicate in the new materialized view group.
Setting group settings and individual materialized view settings.
Click Help on any of the screens for information about the controls.
