After you have completed building your deployment templates, you may need to copy them to multiple master sites for various reasons. For example, you may want to:
Distribute Network Load: Before allowing users to instantiation the template, you need to locate the template at the master site of the target materialized view sites. If you have a large network, you may want to place the template on multiple master sites to distribute your network load.
Create a New Template Based on an Existing Template: After building a template, you may need to create another template that has many of the same characteristics of the first template. Instead of building an entirely new template, copy the template and modify it as necessary.
Complete the following steps to copy your deployment template:
In Enterprise Manager, connect to the Database Instance Home page as the replication administrator.
Click Data Movement.
Under the Advanced Replication section, click Manage.
The Administration Overview page appears.
Under the Materialized View Replication, Master Site section, click the number link next to Templates.
The Deployment Templates page appears.
Select the template you want to copy.
Select Copy from the Actions list.
Click Go when you have made all of the necessary selections.
The Copy Deployment Templates page appears.
Enter a name for the copied template in the New Template Name field next to the name of the template you selected to copy.
If you do not specify a name, then it is copied as template_name
_COPY
. For example, if the name of the template is TEMP1
, the name of the copy is TEMP1_COPY
.
If you do not want to copy the user authorizations for the selected template, then disable the User Authentication box.
Select the appropriate master sites to define the destination of the copied template. The copied template is copied to the sites that you select from the Database Link list (select multiple sites to copy the template to more than one site).
Click OK.
