Modifying Existing Template Objects

You may need to modify an existing template object's DDL to, for example, change a WHERE clause or add a parameter. Also, you might want to change the name of an object.

Note: Objects in templates that have been instantiated cannot be modified.

Complete the following steps to modify an existing deployment template object:

  1. In Enterprise Manager, connect to the Database Instance Home page as the replication administrator.

  2. Click Data Movement.

  3. Under the Advanced Replication section, click callbackManage.

    The Administration Overview page appears.

  4. Under the Materialized View Replication, Master Site section, click the number link next to Templates.

    The Deployment Templates page appears.

  5. Select the deployment template that you want to modify and click the icon in the Edit column.

The General subpage of the Edit Template page appears.

  6. Click Objects.

  7. For the template object that you want to modify from the Name list, modify the object fields as necessary:

Type: The type of the deployment template object. Change the type if necessary.

DDL Text: The DDL that creates the selected object at the remote materialized view site. Edit the DDL if necessary.

  8. Click Apply.
