Enterprise Manager allows you to manage your Oracle software from your Web browser. It also provides management capabilities for the third-party software and hardware components that support your Oracle environment.
In addition to monitoring the performance of your database, the effectiveness of your mid-tier applications, and the response time of your Web pages, Enterprise Manager helps you monitor the Load Balancer Switches. Load Balancer Switches are an important part of any complex Web application environment because they distribute user requests to the Web servers.
Enterprise Manager allows you to monitor F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers from F5 Networks running OS version 4.2 PTF-06, or later.
Specifically, you can:
Add an existing Load Balancer Switch so it appears in the list of Oracle Enterprise Manager targets.
Place all your Load Balancer Switches in a group so you can review their status and performance statistics from one Oracle Enterprise Manager home page.
Drill down and obtain both real-time and historic performance data at the Load Balancer Switch, Virtual Servers, Server Group, and Real Server level.
Monitor the Load Balancer Switches from different configuration views, including the Load Balancer Switch level and Virtual Server level.
