You can then verify that the database is not consuming too many of these resources.</p> <p class="orderedlisttitle">To view details about CPU, memory, and disk utilization: </p> <ol> <li> <p>From the Database Home page, under Host CPU, click the <span class="bold">Load</span> link.</p> <p>The Host page appears, showing the Performance subpage.</p> <p>The Performance Summary view is shown by default. The Performance Summary view displays metric values for CPU utilization<a id="sthref146" name="sthref146"></a>, memory utilization<a id="sthref147" name="sthref147"></a>, disk I/O utilization<a id="sthref148" name="sthref148"></a>, and the top 10 processes ordered by both CPU and memory utilization.</p> </li> <li> <p>Determine whether sufficient resources are available and whether your system is using too many resources.</p> <p>For example, determine the amount of CPU, memory, and disk resources the database uses in the following scenarios:</p> <ul> <li> <p>When your system is idle, or when little database and nondatabase activity exists</p> </li> <li> <p>At average workloads</p> </li> <li> <p>At peak workloads</p> </li> </ul> <p>Workload is an important factor when evaluating the level of resource utilization for your system. During peak workload hours, 90 percent utilization of a resource, such as a CPU with 10 percent idle and waiting time, can be acceptable.
