Also, a capture process must be used to capture data definition language (DDL) changes to tables and other database objects. See <a href="tdpii_repcont003.htm#BABBFECB">"About Change Capture with a Capture Process"</a>.</p> </li> <li> <p>A <span class="bold">synchronous capture</span> should be used to capture DML changes to a relatively small number of tables. See <a href="tdpii_repcont004.htm#BABJJJDE">"About Change Capture with a Synchronous Capture"</a>.</p> </li> </ul> <p>A single capture process or a single synchronous capture can capture changes made to only one database. The database where a change originated is called the <span class="bold">source database</span> for the change.</p> <div class="helpinfonote"> <p><span class="bold">Note: </span>The examples in this guide replicate DML changes only.
