Notifications can be sent to an application using PL/SQL, Java Message Service (JMS), or Oracle Call Interface (OCI) callback functions. Notification can also be sent to a specified e-mail address or HTTP post. In addition, notifications can be presented in either <code>RAW</code> data type form or XML form. Applications and users do not need to be connected to a database to receive notifications.
