<h1>Tutorial: Creating a View with the Create View Tool</h1>

<p>This tutorial shows how to create the <a id="sthref273" name="sthref273"></a><code>SALESFORCE</code> view using the <a id="sthref274" name="sthref274"></a>Create View tool.</p>
<a id="TDDDG206" name="TDDDG206"></a>
<p class="subhead2">To create the SALESFORCE view using the Create View tool:</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>On the Connections tab, expand <span class="bold">hr_conn</span>.</p>
<p>Under the <code>hr_conn</code> icon, a list of schema object types appears.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Right-click <span class="bold">Views</span>.</p>
<p>A list of choices appears.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Click <span class="bold">New View</span>.</p>
<p>The Create View window opens, with default values for a new view.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>For Schema, accept the default value, <code>HR</code>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>For Name, enter <code>SALESFORCE</code>.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Click the tab <span class="bold">SQL Query</span>.</p>
<p>The SQL Query pane appears.</p>

<p>In the SQL Query field:</p>

<p>After <code>SELECT</code>, type:</p>

<p>After <code>FROM</code>, type:</p>

EMPLOYEES WHERE DEPARTMENT_ID = 80
</pre></li>
</ul>

<li>
<p>Click <span class="bold">Test Syntax</span>.</p>
<p>A message appears in the field SQL Parse Results.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>If the message is not "No errors found in SQL", return to step&nbsp;<a href="#BABDIBBC">7</a> and correct the syntax errors in the query.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Click <span class="bold">OK</span>.</p>
<p>The view <code>SALESFORCE</code> is created. To see it, expand Views in the navigation frame.</p>
