To do this, you must be at the master definition site and must ensure that the status of the master group "quiesced" before proceeding.</p> <p>To add one or more objects to a master group:</p> <ol> <li> <p>In Enterprise Manager, connect to the Database Instance Home page as the replication administrator.</p> </li> <li> <p>Click <span class="bold">Data Movement</span>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Under the Advanced Replication section, click <span class="bold">Manage</span>.</p> <p>The Administration Overview page appears.</p> </li> <li> <p>Under the Multimaster Replication section, click the number link next to <img src="shortcut.png" alt="callback" border="0" /><a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="redirectEMpage('MASTER_GROUPS');">Master Groups</a> to open the Master Groups page.</p> </li> <li> <p>Click <span class="bold">Edit</span>.</p> <p>The General subpage of the Edit Master Group page appears.</p> </li> <li> <p>Click <span class="bold">Objects</span>.</p> <p>The Objects subpage of the Edit Master Group page appears.</p> </li> <li> <p>Click <span class="bold">Add</span>.</p> <p>The Add Objects page appears.</p> </li> <li> <p>Specify whether you want to <span class="bold">Select objects across schemas</span> or <span class="bold">Select objects from Schema</span> in the Object Selection Method list.</p> <p>If you choose the <span class="bold">Select objects from Schema</span> option, then enter the schema name in the Schema field that appears.</p> </li> <li> <p>If you chose the <span class="bold">Select objects across schemas</span> option, then use the <span class="bold">Schema</span> list to select the schemas that contain the objects that you want to add to the selected master group.</p> </li> <li> <p>Click <span class="bold">OK</span> to add the selected objects to the master group.</p> </li> <li> <p>When adding an object to a master group, you must also consider the following administrative operations:</p> <ul> <li> <p>When adding a table, how to configure conflict resolution (<a href="configure.htm#CFHDBJAG">Configuring Conflict Resolution</a>) for the table.</p> </li> <li> <p>When adding multiple objects to a group at the same time, Oracle attempts to create dependent objects in the proper order. However, when a group of objects has circular dependencies, you may need to manually precreate object definitions (<a href="multimaster032.htm#BGBCHBDB">Replicating Object Definitions to Master Sites</a>) and populate the objects at each master site. In other words, Use Existing Object must be enabled and Copy Row Data must be disabled for the objects.</p> </li> <li> <p>When a table contains a self-referential constraint, you need to precreate the table definition (<a href="multimaster032.htm#BGBCHBDB">Replicating Object Definitions to Master Sites</a>) and manually populate the table with data at all master sites. In other words Use Existing Object must be enabled and Copy Row Data must be disabled for the table.</p> </li> </ul> <p>After you have added objects to a master group and have dealt with the issues listed above, generate replication support for all master group tables (<a href="multimaster016.htm#BGBFEEAD">Generating Replication Support for Master Group Objects</a>), optionally apply the administrative requests (<a href="administer004.htm#BABDJHFG">Applying Administrative Requests</a>) that result from your changes at all master sites, and then resume replication activity for the master group (<a href="multimaster020.htm#BGBDGFIB">Resuming Replication Activity for a Master Group</a>).</p> </li> <li> <p>In the Objects subpage, under the Generate Replication Support column for the object, select to generate or regenerate replication support for all replicated objects in the currently selected master group.</p> <p>If the object does not exist at the other master sites, then the object is created at the other sites regardless of your selection.</p> <p>See <a href="multimaster032.htm#BGBCHBDB">Replicating Object Definitions to Master Sites</a> for more information.</p> </li> <li> <p>Click <span class="bold">Apply</span>.</p> <div class="helpinfonote"> <p><span class="bold">Note: </span>Do not explicitly replicate indexes that correspond to <code>PRIMARY KEY</code> and <code>UNIQUE</code> constraints for replicated tables in a master group.
